How do you lift and move heavy appliances?
Large appliances are lifted by at least two people onto a dolly or a hand truck and then moved to the transporting vehicle. If the appliance is too heavy for lifting you can try tilting it and then placing it onto a dolly or hand truck. Don’t forget to secure it by moving stripes and moving blankets.
How do I prepare the appliances before the movers come?
You should unplug and disconnect the appliances you want to move one day before the move and empty them. If you are moving a fridge or freezer, make sure it’s completely dry and defrosted. Use tape to secure the cords to the appliances and wrap them in moving blankets. If possible, remove racks from ovens and dishwashers, pack them separately, and label them.
